Trinidad: A villa and a taste

When you set foot in it, experts say, you forget everything. The desire to discover it begins and do it calmly, step by step. Because you have to get to know her sip by sip, inch by inch, through the faces of its people, its bohemian life of its smells, because Trinidad, the city of museums, is the living example that time can stop .
On January 4, 1514, Diego Velázquez founded the Villa de la Santísima Trinidad as part of the plan to conquer Cuba that had begun in 1511 and that this year reaches its 507th Anniversary.

This place, World Heritage of Humanity since 1988, has been a place of rejoicing for those who seek to meet the classic, with the old, which gains value over time and also for those lovers of cigars in whose vitolario A brand prevails that adorns itself with the name of that colonial city and shows it in all its splendor and flavor: Trinidad.
The Trinidad cigar emerged in 1969 as a gift that was given in a very select way to foreign dignitaries, gifts from the State and diplomatic personnel, a similar fate to the beginnings of Cohiba.

Originally they were produced exclusively in the El Laguito factory before settling in the Vuelta Bajo factories in Pinar del Río, but always wearing the best quality leaves, with a majestic elaboration, totally by hand, with long casings and an exquisite composition in its linked in whose distinction the medium flavor stood out.
Almost 30 years after its first twist, in 1998 Trinidad came on the market, and was made available to smokers around the world, very exclusively with limited editions.

When it reached the international market, it did so by offering cigar lovers a unique flavor and aroma through its unique Fundadores vitola (40 x 192 mm). In 2003 he expanded his vitolario with new experiences: Reyes (40 x 110 mm) and Coloniales (44 x 132 mm)
Its commitment to continue offering novelties to its most avid smokers led the brand to bet on heavy-gauge Habanos such as the Trinidad Robustos T (50 x 124mm) in 2009, thus helping to build a complete brand range.

Along the same lines, he brought exponents such as the Trinidad Vigía (54 x 110mm). In 2010 he launched the Trinidad Shorts Robusto Limited Edition (50x102mm) and the Trinidad Topes Limited Edition in 2016 (56 x 125mm).

Exclusively for the “Casas del Habano” franchise in the Asia Pacific region, it presented, in 2017, the Trinidad La Trova (52 x 166mm). Recently, in 2019, on the occasion of the celebration of the brand's 50th Anniversary, the Media Luna vitola (50x115mm) arrived.

With the name of the Trinidad brand, he has not only paid homage to the colonial city that inspired his name, but the surnames of his vitolas have made reference to different aspects of the social and cultural life of that city.

Vitolas such as “Vigía” are inspired by the towers named in that city, just as “Esmeralda” is named after one of the main streets of Trinidad and “Media Luna” refers to a majestic colonial house from 1830 located in the historical Center.
