Afectaciones de la tormenta tropical Eta en el sector tabacalero
As a consequence of the passage of tropical storm Eta through the national territory, in the tobacco sector, severe effects are reported in the provinces of Oriente, Centro and Pinar del Río, mainly in the lands that were ready for planting, seedlings and tobacco plantations, standing out with more losses the companies of the westernmost province.
Losses are also reported in various crops, mainly in companies in the province of Pinar del Río, and damage in Florence.
No affectations were reported in the tobacco collected from the previous season.
The information continues to be evaluated, worked and updated to the extent that the weather conditions permit.
Work is being done on rescuing the fields already sown and preparing the land to promote new beds, which will allow us to continue with the 2020-2021 sowing program.
